PSFU advocates for the release of Ugandan Grain Trucks at the South Sudan Border
Over the past three weeks, South Sudan authorities have impounded 62 Ugandan trucks carrying flour (Maize, cassava) at the Elegu Border. PSFU has been consulting and engaging with different stakeholders in the logistics and transport sector on this issue since releasing the drivers and their trucks.
As a result, PSFU has organized a fact-finding visit to Elegu and Nimule to interface with authorities on the border, particularly the South Sudan side, and a group of stakeholders comprising Uganda Grain Council, Uganda Millers Association, KACITA, and Truck Drivers Association traveled to Elegu border.
PSFU remains committed to an open discussion with the relevant stakeholders in all the affected sectors between the two countries to find a lasting solution.
