PSFU’s Spotlight Initiative Challenge Project winners launch Advertising Gender Based Violence Campaign

Fireworks Advertising, one of the winners of the Spotlight Initiative Challenge Project under Private Sector Foundation Uganda launched the Fireworks Advertising Gender-Based Violence Campaign under the Theme “See the Unseen”, on the 1st of April 2022 at Fireworks Advertising Head offices Ntinda ll Road, supported under the spotlight initiative program under PSFU.

The event captured and highlighted Gender-Based Violence (GBV) related issues within the Advertising industry with the hope that the fight against GBV in Advertising will take center stage in the creatives sector. The launch comprised of a panel discussion with; Tina Wamala - Communications Specialist at British High Commission in Uganda, David Galukande - QG Saatchi & Saatchi Managing Director, Josephine Muvumba - Managing Director of Metropolitan Republic Uganda and James Onen (Fat boy) - CEO of RX Radio moderated by Mitch Egwang - Founder & CEO · Eclipse Marketing & Events Africa.

In addition to this, discussions on the role of the Private sector in eliminating Gender-Based Violence in the workplaces at both strategic and operational levels took place.

Event Highlights included PSFU 'S COO Grace Nshemeire-Gwaku making remarks concerning Gender-Based Violence & Gender Equality and its impact in Uganda and the Private Sector.

The event ended with a Palm Print Endorsement to support the campaign.
