PSFU Participates In The Launch of Rising the Bar Vaccination Drive for Bar Staff and Handover of Items by Uganda Breweries Limited.

Uganda Breweries Limited Launched "The raising of the Bar Vaccination Drive" on 19th January 2022 at Legends Sports Grounds, Bar & Restaurant at Lugogo.

This initiative is aimed at preparing the population to safely return to business once government restrictions are lifted. Uganda Breweries Limited offered a stimulus package for bars and restaurants ahead of the full reopening of the economy. The package comprises a USD 1 million Fund to help prepare bars to reopen safely. A total of 1,600 bars within Kampala, Wakiso, and Mukono were selected to benefit from the Bell Lager Raising The Bar fund after a successful applications and review exercise that was carried out during the greater part of last year. The Launch also comprised of the kicking off free vaccination by Uganda Breweries Limited targeting bar workers, owners, and customers. The event was graced by key players in the Private Sector, Kampala City Council, the Ministry of health, and Uganda Breweries Limited. The flagging off of the dispatch of materials to help bars put in place space enhancement measures & SOPs to welcome patrons safely which was done by MOH Dr. Atwine and Eunice Waweru, Ag. UBL MD. Speakers of the event included Uganda Ministry of Health (MOH) Dr. Diana Atwine Kanzira, Dr. Daniel Okello Ayen- Director of Public Health and Environment Kampala City Council, Mr. Stephen Asiimwe – Chief Executive Officer- Private Sector Foundation Uganda, Eunice Waweru, Ag. Uganda Breweries Limited Managing Director and Mr. Hasahaka Emmy - Marketing and Innovations Directo, Uganda Breweries Limited.
