PSFU has now attained the advanced stages of a BMO where the key focus will be the transformation of knowledge into a knowledge centre. The Business and Training Unit enables PSFU achieve this status and is also expected to be the key tool in generating income for the organization.
The Business and Training Unit is charged with developing products and supporting existing ones to offer cutting edge business solutions to internal and the external clients of the institution so as to enhance competitiveness of its members and the private sector as a whole and also realize optimal advocacy and lobbying in turn driving private sector led development in Uganda.
Business Development Services offered by PSFU BTU
- Specialized Outcome Based Training (OBT):
PSFU BTU has adopted the Outcome Based Training (OBT) blending the Competence Based and experiential learning methodologies; Depending on the learning ecology (learning environment) and the target group different techniques are applied or a combination of techniques and delivery approaches including; Lecturing, Group discussions, brainstorming, individual and group assignments, individual and group presentations these form a part of the formative and summative assessments thus training for impact.
The Process Involves: Once contracted the process involves;
- Carrying out an Institutional or Organizational Training and Capacity Needs Assessment (TNA) to establish the internal and external needs of the client.
- Developing training and capacity building objectives.
- Developing training outcomes.

- Administering of the formative and summative assessment.

The Executive Development Program (EDP) has been designed to enhance performance of Middle, Senior and Top managers within the Private sector, Public sector and Civil Society.

Fellowshipping and Business Networking: PSFU recognizes the importance of Fellowshipping and networking as a means to business growth through meeting and sharing business ideas from different professionals, individuals and companies; reason that business breakfasts, lunches, dinners and galas are organized by the organization to offer a conducive and not so formal means of meeting, greeting and chatting with the different sectors best in turn offering business opportunities.
