The Gender Equallity Seal Enables Businesses increase Productivity, Profitability and Partnerships


13 companies have commited to the Gender Equality Seal Certification Programme aimed to help businesses achieve Gender Equality which is Goal 5 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The Gender Equality Seal promotes investment in systems that integrate gender equality into the work environment and business strategies.  

It is a learning and certification programme supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and implemented by the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) which enables businesses to increase productivity, profitability and partnerships

During the signing ceremony, Mr. Patrick Bitature Chairman PSFU noted that Gender equa¬lity is critical as women and men face different challenges in full participation, representation and decent work opportunities. Measures that ensure equitable access to resources and basic services are necessary to obtain an inclusive and gender responsive governance.

The companies that signed on the Gender Equality Seal include: Nile Breweries Ltd, Standard Chartered Bank Ltd, Alam Group, Simba Group, DFCU Bank, Delight Uganda, Hostalite, Eye to Eye Consult Ltd, Victorious Education Services, Graphic Systems, NBS TV, Aloesha Organic and Finance Trust.

The seal was signed in the presence of Mr.  Abdoulaye Mar Dieye Assistant Administrator and Director UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, Ms. Rosa Malango Resident Coordinator Resident Representative United Nations in Uganda UNDP Uganda, Ms. Almaz Gebru Country Director UNDP, Mr. Patrick Bitature Chairman PSFU and Mr. Gideon Badagawa Executive Director.   For details contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
